Are you getting married and wondering what questions to ask your wedding photographer? You've come to the right place!

If you've booked a zoom call with me, great!

From our time together I really want to listen and understand what you have planned for your Big Day and what you are looking forward to the most. This help me picture myself at your wedding and grasp what’s most important to you in your photos and photographer.

After speaking to me, one of things my couples often say is ‘you made us feel excited about our wedding!’

Here’s some of the top questions my couples like to ask me when we ‘meet’

  • How do we secure our date?

All you need to do is place a deposit of 30% with me to secure your wedding date and this comes off of your balance.

There’s also a contract that needs to be signed. Once this is done, I’m yours and I can start turning other couples away when they ask about your date!

Your balance is payable 1 month prior to your wedding date. If for any reason you need to postpone your wedding date, the deposit is transferable to your new date, provided I’m available.

  • What happens after we book?

In the run-up to your wedding, I’ll share lots of really useful wedding planning tip too (I’ve been to so many weddings, I’ve picked up quite a bit!). I will also be there to help you any way I can, whether that’s by making supplier recommendations or anything you need help with!

About couple of weeks from your wedding day, we’ll zoom call or meet for a drink, depending on your preference and we can run through your final plans and we’ll put together a bespoke wedding photography timeline (pre-wedding consultation- I promise it’s not as formal as it sounds!) - I am always there for you, you are free to book in as many of these as you like!!

We’ll also meet for a pre-wedding shoot too if you’ve booked one.

  • We feel awkward being photographed – help!

The last thing you want is to feel awkward on your wedding day by being jammed into loads of poses. For couples’ portraits, I’ll only ask you to do things that you’d normally do together. You’ll hold hands and go for a short walk around the grounds of your venue. I like to keep everything elegant and natural. Plus, on your wedding day you’re going to be SO love-struck that you won’t be able to resist smiling, feeling good and looking amazing!

If you want to completely nail any camera nerves before your wedding, why not book an engagement shoot?

  • Do we have to ‘feed’ you?

If it's a full day, yes please!! A hot meal really helps so much while coving your day.

  • How do you approach group shots?

Group shots are a must at most weddings, how often is it that you get the whole family together after all? I just don’t feature lot of them on my website because they are not hugely exciting for most couples to view.

I suggest keeping them to a minimum. Have between 6-8 groups and keep them small and informal so you can get back to the party and I can get back to capturing all those cool, genuine and spontaneous moments that you are going to love!

  • What happens if you are sick on our wedding day?

I’ll never leave you without a good photographer for your wedding if the worst happens.

I have a huge network of fellow professionals and also a member of the emergency photography cover group and through it, I’ll find a photographer that has a style that complements mine and they will act as my ‘associate photographer’.

My associate will shoot your wedding in my place, but I will edit all the photos in my signature style so your photos will have the same vibrant look that you were originally drawn to.

  • How will our photos be delivered?

Your photos will be delivered via a really easy to use and private online gallery. From the gallery, you can download all the final edited photos from your wedding in high resolution.

You are then free to make your own prints, but there is always the option to purchase prints directly if you like. Plus, the online gallery makes it so easy to share your photos with your guests.

  • What do you mean by photography ‘unlimited’ professionally edited photographs?

I don't limit the number of images you receive. Because of my documentary style, I sill always be snapping away from the background and all those unscripted moments will be delivered to you in your full gallery so that it tells a full story of your wedding day.

Also your wedding deserves to be captured in its entirety. I’m not the kind of photographer that disappears once so many hours are up! Or worse still will send you an invoice of extra coverage. I only leave when I’m happy that I have so many photos that you’ll LOVE right from getting ready until the dance floor!

This is part of the reason that I only shoot a very limited number of weddings a year, so I can dedicate myself completely to every wedding.

  • Have you shot at our venue before?

I’ve shot weddings across the country and many of those I haven’t shot at before.

One of the keys to how I capture great photos is in how I meticulously prepare and plan for every wedding – this a large part of the work that goes on behind the scenes.

I always visit venues before to scout locations (for couple shots, group photos) and to make a back-up plan for rain. Also, I like to make a storyboard for each part of your day that I base my approach around to ensure you will absolutely love your photos!

Finally, when we have our pre-wedding consultation, we’ll make a solid photography timeline together to make sure you get all the photos you dream of too.

  • How long will we be away from our guests for photos?

You want to have the best day of your life and for you that means spending as much time as possible having good times with the people you love the most.

I’m not the kind of photographer that will take you away from your guests for a ridiculously long photo-shoot and leave all your guests hanging around!

I’ll capture relaxed portraits of you two during a couple of short shoots during your day, which allows us to explore different locations and capture some golden hour magic. One I tear and do 20 minutes before the guest head in for the wedding breakfast, and one at 40minutes before sunset.

I look forward to speaking to you!
