Picture this: a glorious summer day, the sun shining brightly, and love floating in the air like confetti. That's the backdrop for Melanie and Kit's unforgettable wedding at the magnificent Botleys Mansion. Let me tell you, as a wedding photographer, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to capture all the magical moments.
It was all hands on deck from the morning. I've never seen so many bridesmaids and groomsmen for one wedding! Mel and Kit both decided to get ready at Botleys Mansion so it was an easy hop for me to one room to another! Now, I often arrive to a bustling room with someone saying, "Sorry, it's chaos in here," but you know what? I thrive on it! The mix of emotions, the sea of faces, and the occasional kid dashing to the buffet table—it's like the icing on a delicious cake.
Once Melanie slipped into her perfectly fitted dress, we made our way to the Green room for the ceremony! But not before her brother who as walking her down the aisle come into the room to have a look. WOW what a reaction!
Botleys being just a stone's throw from her family home, the Green room was bustling with friends and family, all excited and anxious to see the beautiful bride come down the aisle! Let me geek out for a moment and tell you about the light at this place—out of this world! It added an extra touch of drama and intensified the already high-emotion atmosphere as Melanie, accompanied by her brother, glided down the aisle toward Kit. The ceremony itself was filled with poignancy and heartfelt moments. I felt truly honored to bear witness to their love story.
As soon as the vows were exchanged, It was a perfect opportunity to sip some bubbly and soak in the beauty of the moment front of the house busking in the gorgeous summer sun, before being swept away by the excitement of the day.
As the reception drew to a close, Melanie and Kit took a leisurely stroll, with an eager photographer in tow, to capture the warm glow of the sun. These moments made for some truly magical shots, let me tell you!
Speeches followed dinner, and boy, were they a rollercoaster of emotions! Heartfelt, eloquent, and downright funny, they had us all in stitches. It was the perfect finale before heading upstairs for a caffeine fix and some lively photos out the back of the venue. Meanwhile, the dining room underwent a fantastic transformation in preparation for the evening's festivities. And of course no wedding is complete without a live band and some shapes being thrown on the dance floor. Now, that's how you kick off a night of celebration!
