Indigo Images specialise in telling the story of your day with beautiful, timeless images.

Ryo Ishikawa

Hi, my name is Ryo and I'm the Principal Photographer and Owner of Indigo Images.

I photographing my first weddings in 2012, but I've been in love with photography for a lot longer than that. It all started in my teenage years when my uncle gave me his old film camera. It ignited a passion and a desire to tell stories my on way with imagery. I spent hours developing film and making prints in the darkroom, which led me to university and graduating with a BA(Hons) in Photography.

When I started Indigo Images, I wanted to make sure that every couple I work with felt like they were my only client. Whether you're planning a destination wedding or tying the knot right here in the UK, I'll be there every step of the way, helping you be comfortable in front of my lens, making sure your photographer's checklist is complete, recommending suppliers, and making your vision come to life.

You have a story to tell and I would be honoured to tell it with my images. I love what I do and look forward to the uniqueness each wedding has to offer. It’s an absolute joy for me to photograph weddings.

From 2015-2022 I was also a part of John Nassari's photography team as his No.1 Photographer. His right hand man if you will! I photographed some of the most extravagant, celebrity filled super-luxury weddings at spectacular locations in the UK and around the world as a part of his team. Some of them includes a wedding broadcast on the final episode of Channel 4's A Very British Country House at Cliveden House and another wedding featured in Hello! Magazine. I also on occasion lead the John Nassari photography team at magnificent venues such as Blenheim Palace.

My work with him culminated with John Nassari being voted Best Photographer by the wedding & events industry at Bridelux Awards 2021 held at The Dorchester Hotel in London.

I am extremely proud and honoured to have been a part of such an amazing and talented team achieving so much at the pinnacle of our industry.

The Team

What makes you unique?

I'm a documentary wedding photographer who loves to tell a photographic story of your day in the most natural way possible.

I love the emotion that weddings are filled with. All those fleeting moments, from laughter and excitement, to anxiety and joy. Your wedding day is full of memories that you'll want to treasure forever, and I'd love to capture them for you.

I'm all about capturing beautiful moments on camera, as they happen—from your first kiss as newlyweds, to cutting the cake, or your dad's emotional speech. I am there to preserve the moments that you'll want to remember forever.

What else do I love? Embarrassing stories of the bride and groom, emotional moments with family members, funny interactions with guests and friends, dancing like no one is watching, or even crying like no one is watching!

Wedding photography is much more than pretty pictures—it's about telling a story through images that lets you relive every moment of your day whenever you look at them.

Where are you based and do you travel?

We are based in Surrey just outside of London, UK and yes we love to travel! Most destinations in about 1-2 hours from London I will travel to for free. If you want me to photograph your story further afield it will require a travel fee depending on where it takes place. But no worries, I always try to find the most cost-effective way to get to your wedding.

When will we get our photos?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a maximum 8 weeks.

How will we receive our images?

You will get a personal and private gallery link, from where you can browse your full wedding and download all the photos as well as share them, choose your favourites, and also order prints! All the photos are provided in full quality with no watermarks.

How many pictures will we receive?

For a 10 hours coverage wedding, you will receive 1000+ fully edited images. I always choose quality rather than quantity but I never limit the amount of images delivered.

Do you edit the images?

Yes I do both tonal and colour editing to make the pictures ‘pop’. I am careful not to carry out extensive face / bodywork retouching in order to retain the natural feel.

How do we secure your services for the day?

I take bookings with a 30% deposit and provide a written contract, the terms of which we all understand and agree to.

Is a second photographer advisable?

I am confident in covering a wedding up to 120 people myself. Although getting that second angle and vision of the day can be really great as I can only be in one place at a time. Also perfect for covering the second prep location and reactions at the altar.

Do you have insurance?

Yes I am fully insured for both public liability and indemnity, and will be able to provide proof of insurance on request.

Do you supply wedding albums?

I believe I offer the best albums that are handmade in the UK. Please check out our albums page. We really don’t print images as much as we should. Our albums are leather bound and printed on archival paper that will hold the memories for a lifetime and even be handed down to the next generation.

Do you supply prints?

Yes! Special images should be printed and displayed. Every gallery comes with its own dedicated print store where you can select your image, and order prints directly to your door! Example Print Store:

How long is your full day coverage?

I work from morning preparation all the way through the cake cutting, first dance and into the evening celebrations. This is usually about ten hours depending on your needs.

What if we want more coverage over the allocated time?

No problem! I will make an individual customised quote just for you to cover all your needs.

What if your camera breaks on the day?

I carry at least one reserve for every piece of equipment to cater for any such eventuality. It's never happened yet but you never know.

How safe are my pictures from file loss and damage?

As soon as I return home, my memory cards are backed up locally to my private server and externally using a cloud backup system. The external location back up protects from and theft, loss, damage and acts of God.

Please download and back up your own copy of your wedding images after delivery! I cannot guarantee indefinite storage of your wedding photographs.

What equipment do you use?

All my equipment is tailored for wedding photography. Since 2017 I have used the Sony Alpha 9 series bodies and lenses from Sony and Carl Zeiss.

I need recommendation for suppliers, can you help?

Of course. with over 7 years experience in the industry I have worked with the best of the best! I will gladly point you in the direction of every supplier that I can personally recommend.

Do you supply USB Sticks?

Yes USB's are available on request at no extra charge. As an effort to combat e-waste I encourage all couples to use storage mediums they already own, as the last thing the world needs is more unnecessary products being produced.
